Could one dollar change your financial story?

Could a dollar change your financial story?

Does your story have a cost?

Do you feel stuck in your current situation and want greater financial security?

Picture it now: Interest rates go up. No problem. Your family has a major medical expense—no problem. College tuition? Home remodeling? Retirement? All, no problem. Sounds amazing, doesn’t it?

Sadly, many of us never get to experience this because our emotions get in the way of our success.

Ultimately, our outcomes are the result of the decisions we make. So, if your story creates strong emotions that rule your decisions, it could sabotage your financial success.

But here’s the good news. A story works both ways. If your current one is costing you money, you can change it. Once you successfully remove emotions from your financial decisions, you can get the real results you dream about.

Financial security is my goal for every family, regardless of race, gender, or orientation. As a special offer to help your family get ahead, I’m providing the key to your transformational journey—my book for just a buck.

Everyone has an embarrassing story about money, even me

Many years ago, I faced the humiliation of having a money problem. It surfaced when I treated a long-time friend to lunch. When the waiter ran my card, it was declined.

“What???” I said. So I gave him another. That card was also declined. This back and forth went on for a while until my friend finally said, “Bob, seriously. It’s not a problem. I’ll take care of it.”

He ended up paying the bill.

I said, “No, no. That’s not right. Let me at least write you a check to cover the amount.” So I wrote him a check, and we went on our way.

A week later… the check bounced… Can you imagine the embarrassment?

But, on a positive note, this moment would mark the beginning of a journey that would shape me into the person I am today. After years of working with psychologists and coaches, I learned that I did not have a problem with spending. My problem was emotional… I couldn’t set boundaries.

When I was young, any money I made went to my parents. They were always short on cash, so my piggybank funded their piggybank. This carried on through adulthood and even grew with other family members.

I hated it. I hated it because it was my money. And I hated myself because I couldn’t say no. Rather than feel shame, I did what any “reasonable” person in my situation would do. I just spent everything.

You can’t take away what isn’t there. Right?

That was my self-sabotage.

Financial problems are often caused by the way we relate to money. I overspent to avoid feeling shame. When I learned how to overcome my emotional barriers, I became whole again, and my financial situation changed for the better.

Your story may be dramatically different than mine. However, all sad stories share the same problem—emotions. The Money Nerve was written to help you navigate those emotions. Once your emotions no longer drive your decisions, your results will improve, and you’ll see your finances do too.

What people say about the Money Nerve

“Bob Wheeler is my go-to for advice on financial matters and invariably in those discussions of finance he has guided me in life decisions as well. I’ve struggled financially for years of as a professional comedian and single mother of two daughters. Now that I have achieved some financial success I enjoy continuing to budget and now know the thrill of saving money too. Bob’s own life example of frugality and then reward has been inspirational. It’s never about how much money I have it’s about finding what gives me joy and finding a path to follow my dreams.”

Vicki Barbolak

“The Money Nerve was so inspiring that I had to stop reading so I could create a savings budget/plan. Once my budget was complete, I finished reading the rest of the book and am well on my way to savings and creating abundance in my life. Great reading and insights. I highly recommend it to all!”
